SKVP is a Mumbai street food restaurant. I’ve heard about this place for a while so decided to give it a try. They have a couple of branches (Harrow, Hounslow, Slough) – we went to the one at Harrow.
We ordered the signature dish ‘Vada Pav’ which is an Indian version of a burger – the vada is a deep fried spicy potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav), accompanied with a couple of chutneys and a fried chilli. It cheep street food originally from Mumbai but available all over India. Ri grabbed it an started eating it straight away! It was spicy but he really enjoyed it.
I had the pav bhaji which was nice though not outstanding. I would have liked the bhaji to have a bit more texture and the pav to be more toasted.
The samosas were very average and so were the kids meals….though Ri and Si both enjoyed their chocolate samosas for dessert! They looked quite boring but it was filled with chocolate so not surprised that they liked it!! The most disappointing of the lot was the ‘gol gappas’ (similar to pani puri with a different filling). Overall I found the food very average and wouldn’t rush back here anytime soon!
Here are some pics from our lunch…
