Piz Gloria – Schilthorn, Switzerland

Posted on July 31, 2018 by Swati Leave a Comment on Piz Gloria – Schilthorn, Switzerland

A beautiful restaurant on top of Mount Schilthorn, built in 1969, the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant was used to shoot some of the scenes in one of the most Swiss of all James Bond movies – “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. The movie is mainly set in the Swiss area of Bernese Oberland.

Booking is essential but you don’t need to really book in advance. Once you reach the top – pop into the restaurant and book a table and you can then wander around enjoying the views or shopping at the tourist shop and come back to the restaurant at the time of your booking.

The panoramic views from the restaurant are stunning! Make sure you get a table next to the window to enjoy the amazing Swiss mountains.

I had the Swiss Rosti with smoked salmon and cream cheese which was really nice! But overall the food I would say is good but not as outstanding as the location but definitely worth a visit because of the magnificent scenery.
