Set up by Thomasina Miers – Masterchef UK Winner (2005), Wahaca is a Mexican street food restaurant and it now has numerous branches in the UK (mainly in London)
It’s always a pleasure to eat at Wahaca and I’ve eaten at several branches and while the food is equally good everywhere my favourite is the one at Southbank, mainly because of the location and the unique restaurant.
It’s built over eight recycled shipping containers. This branch was originally designed to be a pop up but it’s become a permanent feature because of it’s huge popularity. A must visit….
I love their street food menu with tapas sized portions which gives you a chance to try out some many things.
I love vegetarian food and my favourites at Wahaca are….Sweet Potato & Feta Tacquito, Mushroom & Cheese Tacos, Mexican Bowl & the Sonara Salad. Their menu keeps evolving and they keep introducing new things in their menu which is great.
The kids love it there too and they often have the children’s ‘Make your own chicken tacos’
Every single time I’ve been there the restaurant is always buzzing and vibrant which I absolutely love…..and the food as always is outstanding!
We always have a brilliant time and keep going back…
Here are some pics from the different meals we’ve had here….
