Easy Paneer Paratha

Posted on May 14, 2020 by Swati Leave a Comment on Easy Paneer Paratha

My eight year old girl loves to help me in the kitchen so I’m always simplifying recipes to make things easy for her. Here’s a very easy paneer paratha recipe that requires no stuffing – just incorporate everything into the dough and roll out the parathas and cook on the tava

Overview

  • Makes 8 parathas
  • Difficulty – Moderate

Ingredients

  • One cup whole wheat atta
  • One cup grated paneer (I use Tesco paneer blocks)
  • 3 tbsp yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 3 to 4 chopped green chillis (skip if making for kids)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil for kneading
  • A little water for kneading
  • Oil or ghee for cooking (I prefer to use ghee)

Method

  • Put all the ingredients (except oil and water) in a large mixing bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon
  • Add water slowly and knead well to form a dough. Don’t add too much water else the dough will be very sticky.
  • Add the oil and knead well for a few minutes till the dough is soft
  • Oil your hands lightly and divide the dough into 8 balls and cover and keep aside for 15-20 minutes
  • Roll out all the balls using a little flour to stop them from sticking
  • Heat a tava and drizzle some ghee or oil
  • Put one rolled paratha to cook
  • Drizzle some more ghee or oil on the top of the uncooked side and flip over when the side facing the bottom starts to get golden brown
  • Cook on the other side for a few minutes and keep aside and smear with some ghee
  • Cook all the parathas in the same manner and stack them on top of each other to keep them soft
  • Serve with coriander chutney
