I’ve been seeing reviews of this restaurant for such a long time (usually good ones) that I’m surprised we’ve never been here before!
We had actually ordered pizzas from Peppermill for Si’s birthday party two years back and they were great. I had never been to the restaurant – just ordered them on the phone and they were delivered to the birthday party venue exactly at the promised time and everyone enjoyed them. I guess because of that experience, in my mind ‘The Peppermill’ was positioned as a ‘take away/home delivery’ restaurant and not really an ‘eat-in’ restaurant. But after seeing so many positive reviews I thought we should check it out.
Its a lovely, warm, family friendly restaurant! It has more of a café feel than a restaurant which works well for us when we go out with the kids.
Si ordered the ‘Children’s Sunday roast’ which was a very generous portion size for a child meal and looked quite nice while Ri had sausages with chips! He gobbled it up as soon as it arrived so I couldn’t even take a pic!
I had the soup of the day for starters which was the ‘Warming Winter Broth’ and Neel had ‘Croquette de champinones’ with garlic mayonnaise for his starter. Both were amazing! My soup was so filling I could have skipped my mains (but I had already ordered it!)
For mains I had the king prawn linguine with sun dried tomatoes and Neel had Chargrilled rib eye steak. He said his was really good. I didn’t taste it as I don’t eat steak! Mine was lovely too though to be honest I was too full to really enjoy it!
While we were at the restaurant we realised they host children’s ‘make your own pizza’ parties and since Si had such a good time she is quite keen to have her next birthday party here! So we now have a toss up between a ‘pizza making party’ or a ‘chocolate making party’! But before that I have to still decide on Ri’s 4th birthday! Can’t believe he’s soon going to the four!!!!
Overall a very enjoyable family meal and since this is so close to home we will be coming here more often!
